About Us
The Chocolate Bar Davis was born from a love of craft and community. After leaving teaching to focus on family, Scott Dardenelle rediscovered his passion for chocolate, founding Epic Chocolates in 2015 and later honing his artistry under renowned Chef Louis Amado in 2023.
In 2025, Scott teamed up with Katey McLachlan—a Davis local and community builder—to launch a new vision: handcrafted confections that celebrate the local spirit. Katey’s expertise in business and her dedication to creating spaces for connection are essential to our mission.
Together, Scott and Katey combine heart and mastery to share chocolates that inspire and bring people together. You can find them every Saturday morning at the Davis Farmers Market sharing their latest creations—stop by, say hello, and taste the difference passion makes.
